Do you like cartoons and animated movies and have always wondered what the characters would look like in real life? That's the question Hidreley Diao asked himself. This digital artist works for the website Bored Panda, where he is responsible for a series of funny pictures. So it was only natural that he turned his attention to making photorealistic portraits of movie characters using artificial intelligence software to bring our favorite characters from the Disney universe and others to life. We show you a small part of his work on the following pages!

#1 Cinderella

What image editing programs can do! This is what the first example shows. We had not imagined Cinderella otherwise. Not only the face part, but also the earrings match perfectly with the Disney original. We are already enchanted!

#2 Snow White

Skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, hair as black as ebony: this is how Snow White is described in the Disney classic. Hidreley Diao was also inspired by this description to bring the cartoon character to life. He even thought of the poison apple!

Elsa from "Frozen" has become one of our favorite princesses over the years. A real life film adaptation has not yet been made. But if we could bring the Arendelle character to life, we would want the very woman in the AI-generated portrait to play that role! She looks just like Elsa.

When you were a child, were you a little afraid of Ursula in "Ariel, The Little Mermaid"? Well, maybe you'll find her a little more likeable as a real person. We think her high eyebrows and wide smile are particularly good.

Have you seen "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"? Then you will certainly remember Phoebus. As a real person, he would only differ slightly from his cartoon character. But the resemblance is certainly there. It is especially the beard that makes the difference!

#6 Shrek, Fiona, Prince Charming and the Donkey from the "Shrek" Series.

What do you need to humanize fabulous creatures like ogres and animals? That's right: a little imagination and good AI software. The realistic representations of the characters in "Shrek" are absolutely successful. Prince Charming, as a real person, looks just like the animated character from the DreamWorks films. But our secret favorite of the series is definitely the donkey.

#7 Sailor Moon

When you were a child, did you also dream of being Bunny Tsukino, aka Sailor Moon? Maybe back then you didn't have the imagination to imagine what the manga character would look like in real life. But thanks to the artist, we can even more so now. It was the little freckles that caught our eye immediately. Now we are even more interested in a live-action adaptation of our childhood series.

As if the doll wasn't scary enough, Hidreley Diao imagines Annabelle from the horror movie of the same name even scarier as a human being. The doll's stare and deep dark circles stand out perfectly in the retouched image and give us chills.

#9 Chucky, The Killer Doll

Annabelle wasn't scary enough for you yet? Just in case, the artist has created a human version of Chucky with a deceptive resemblance. Admittedly, the real character doesn't look that scary to us. But we would still be suspicious of her if she asked us to play with her.

It's a good thing horror dolls aren't real, because if they behaved like they do in the movies, we'd probably have a bit of a problem. Chucky's bride looks harmless at first glance, but those who have seen the horror movie know that she also has some serious assets. We wouldn't want to run into them alone on the street at night.

#11 SpongeBob SquarePants

What would a little yellow sponge be like as a human being? It's not so easy to imagine it in your mind. But just by looking at Hidreley's portrait, you can imagine our favorite sponge as a real human being. If you also close your eyes and think about the voice, you simply realize that the photorealistic representation of SpongeBob simply couldn't fit the character better.

#12 Mr. Burns

The Simpsons is probably one of our favorite sitcoms. However, the idea of what some of the characters would look like in real life sometimes scares us a little because of their physical forms. Mr. Burns would be easily recognizable by his prominent nose and teeth. But with his incredible age of 122, he's not exactly young anymore either, which is reflected quite well in his skin.

Lisa, on the other hand, would actually look quite cute

So you recognized her right away? In real life, Lisa would probably have big bulging eyes and blonde hair. Her nose is pretty much the same too. In the real world, she would probably be a smarter than average eight year old girl, just like in the show. We think the artist did a good job of representing her!

Carl, 78, from the Pixar animated film "Up", who unfortunately lost his wife Ellie relatively early, we know him more as a gruff old man, until little Russell goes on an adventure with him. Instead, the artist brings out his friendly radiance, which is really nice to see.
